1st Wing Scout Group

Scouting offers everyday adventure and activity to almost 400,000 young people across the UK, and 85 of them, (boys and girls) are in our village, Wing. Scouting gives young people confidence, skills, a sense of community and an adventure they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Beavers (6 - 8 years) have fun and make lots of new friends. They learn about themselves, get to know people, being creative and playing games.

Cubs (8 - 10 1/2 years) Cubs try lots of new activities like swimming, music, exploring, cycling and collecting. They go camping with the rest of the Pack, sleeping in a tent with loads of outdoor fun.

Scouts (10 1/2 - 14 years) Scouting is being part of a team. Getting outdoors with traditional scouting skills such as camping, survival and cooking as well as a range of adventurous activities, anything from abseiling to yachting.

Explorers (14 - 18 years) 1st Wing has strong links with explorer units in the area and can offer young people the opportunity to link their Duke of Edinburgh awards with Young Leader training and of course fun and adventure with young people of their own age.
