Wing parish council meets monthly, on the last Tuesday of each month at 8pm in the village hall small hall (map). Members of the public are always welcome to attend meetings. The first 10-15 minutes of monthly meetings are allocated for members of the public to ask questions or raise matters with Wing Parish council.
Councillor Vacancy
Wing parish council has a vacancy for a new councillor - and no we are nothing like the "Vicar of Dibley" lot - honestly!
Who can join and what's involved?
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- Be a British Citizen, an EU or commenwealth citizen.
- You should have lived in Wing for the last 12 months.
- Your political views are not important.
- You must be able to attend most of the parish council meetings.
- The council has a few sub-committees dealing with special subjects such as planning, Jubilee Green, youth matters, etc.
- We have a broad spread of ages (male and female), from a wide variety of backgrounds and occupations (some of us full time employed, some retired).
- We care about our village and want to make it a better place to live in - and together we can do it.
- The role of parish councillor is on a voluntary basis - we don't get paid for the work we do.
- Parish councils make decisions on all kinds of issues that affect the local coomunity (e.g. bus shelters, recreation grounds, play equipment, was memorials).
- If you are unsure about the role of parish councillor, why don't you come along to one of our meetings to see what we do.
